Planting Trees

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.

-Chinese Priverb

Last week, I planted 55 trees on our property. They’re tiny, but I have high hopes that one day they will be tall, mighty, and beautiful. It felt wonderful to do the monotonous work of raking an area, digging a hole, and planting the tree.

This morning, my husband and I helped a friend plant nearly 100 trees in her property. She has the same plan as us: wind block and privacy.

“We are so blessed,” I told my husband. “We have land to grow on and time to freely help others.

Planting trees and growing friendships. That’s the sweeter side of things.
